Throughout history, people have gathered and spread information through telling and sharing stories. As a communication major, you will develop your writing, 编辑, 讲故事, persuading and publishing skills across a range of media.
You’ll prepare for your career by concentrating in an area of interest such as digital 讲故事, public relations, 电影making and cinema, or sports communication.
Start working in your medium or track of interest on day one, learning on the job by contributing to a wide range of student-run media. Broaden this experience each summer through opportunities to live, work and learn abroad.

With more than a decade of experience in competitive public speaking, Hope is passionate about connecting classroom concepts with real-world experience by serving as the assistant director of Berry's award-winning speech and debate team. In addition to teaching public speaking, visual rhetoric and communication theory, she mentors student re搜索 projects that have been presented at conferences such as the National 沟通 Association Annual Convention. As a Berry alumna, Hope loves helping students learn how to use their voice to improve our campus, community and world.

Get an overview of the sports communication field, including media organizations, marketing and advertising firms, and teams and leagues.
Apply critical theory to evaluating television, 电影, photographic and digital media texts, with emphasis on visual media’s social, cultural and representational roles in society.
Learn through practicing a specialized area or field of journalism, such as feature writing, sports journalism, investigative reporting, or health and science journalism.

Heitor 德波拉 ’20, who was drawn to Berry’s communication program because of its versatility, graduated in December with a public relations concentration plus a variety of career-focused experiences. Combining skills learned in his public relations classes and work opportunities on and off campus, Heitor built a resume that landed him job interviews before graduation. Fielding several offers by January, he accepted a position as an assistant strategist (paid social media) with Mediahub, a full-service global media company located in 10 countries with over 900 employees.
